Alfalah Credit Cardholders to enjoy 25% discount on Careem rides


Karachi, August 16, 2016: Continuing their efforts to extend unparalleled service to its customers, Pakistan’s leading bank, Bank Alfalah and premier chauffeur-driven car hailing platform, Careem have signed an agreement to provide a hefty 25% discount to Alfalah Credit Card customers on their Careem rides. The agreement will prove instrumental in strengthening and accelerating the pace of safe and hassle-free digital payments in the country.

Careem offers online car booking services for its customers in 29 cities across Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan, including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. With only a few clicks on Careem’s app which can be downloaded from Google and Apple’s app stores, customers can summon a car from the comfort of their homes or offices.

Bank Alfalah and Unionpay partner to launch debit cards in Pakistan


SHANGHAI, 22 January 2016 – Bank Alfalah and Unionpay International have signed an agreement to issue debit cards in Pakistan. Under this agreement, Bank Alfalah will issue multiple categories of debit cards across different customer segments starting with branchless banking.

Unionpay International is the leader in credit and debit cards supporting over 5 billion cards globally, across various customer segments. Utilising Unionpay’s global experience and Bank Alfalah’s local expertise, both organisations will work together to develop and launch innovative, secure and widely accepted payment products and services in Pakistan.

These debit cards will be accepted at all ATMs and POS machines in Pakistan and globally at Unionpay’s fast growing network. With the trade relations between Pakistan and China on the rise, availability of Unionpay products in Pakistan will help in facilitating cross border transactions between the two countries and further solidifying relations between the two.

In the past, Bank Alfalah signed an agreement with Unionpay to accept their cards at the Bank’s POS network in Pakistan.

Bank Alfalah Partners with 1Link Over Six Million Cards to be Accepted on Bank Alfalah’s POS terminals



KARACHI – 26 January 2016: Bank Alfalah, one of Pakistan’s leading banks, has recently signed an agreement with 1Link Guarantee Limited (1Link) for Local POS (point of sale) Switch in Pakistan. Under this agreement, over six million proprietary cards issued by 1Link Member Banks and JCB Cards will be accepted on Bank Alfalah’s POS terminals to conduct retail transactions. This arrangement would also allow local banks to issue proprietary debit cards for domestic use only. In addition, loyalty redemption transactions would also be conducted on the Bank Alfalah POS for card based loyalty programs hosted by 1Link.
